Domenico Tedesco becomes a coach of Fenerbahçe Istanbul

At the end of August, José Mourinho had to go as Fenerbahçe coach. Now the Turkish club has found a successor – it comes from Germany.
Fenerbahçe Istanbul has a new trainer. Domenico Tedesco will in future be on the sidelines of the traditional Turkish club. The former Schalke coach signed a contract until 2027.
As the club announced on Tuesday, the 39-year-old German-German-Italian agreed on a working paper with a term of two years. Most recently, Tedesco had looked after the Belgian national team, and since January 2025 he was without a club. Previously, he worked in the Bundesliga for Schalke 04 and RB Leipzig.
Fenerbahçe had separated from José Mourinho at the end of August. The Portuguese start coach could not meet the expectations set in him. He had only switched to 19-time master in June 2024. The missed qualification for the Champions League finally led to separation.
Last season Fenerbahçe became runner -up – with a clear gap on Galatasaray. After the end of Mourinho, numerous names were acted as possible successors, now the decision was made on Tedesco.
