Dolce & Gabbana opted for lingerie at Milan Fashion Week

If Dolce & Gabbana has its way, women should wear fashion for the coming autumn and winter that consists largely of lingerie. But of course not only. The designer duo’s show at Milan Fashion Week on Saturday was peppered with transparency and bare skin.

Black lingerie shaped a large part of the collection. Tulle, chiffon and lace, bras and panties, sheer dresses and pants. Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana combined these elements in countless variations – here and there contrasted with a white men’s shirt and a black tie as well as opaque skirts and boleros. Long coats and capes in various designs ensured that the demonstration did not turn into a lingerie parade.

And then gold came into play – not in doses, but in full splendor. From the golden trench to the sparkling sequined dress with a metal corsage belt. Finally, another theme in red, again with lingerie elements – and also in different sizes.

Incorporating underwear into outerwear is part of the Dolce & Gabbana brand essence. Just like the sensuality in black with the Sicilian as a stylistic model. In this collection, the two designers play with elements that have made them famous.

With Giorgio Armani, one of the really big names in the Italian fashion scene should follow on Sunday. Fashion Week ends on Monday. (dpa)
