Nicolò Tresoldi is currently hunting goals for the German offspring. However, he would be happy to call Italy’s national coach Gattuso.

Many experts saw Nicolò Tresoldi in the extended circle for the squad of the German national team named on Thursday. However, national coach Julian Nagelsmann waived a nomination. Instead, the 19-year-old striker, who switched from Hannover 96 to Club Brügge in the summer, will again appear for the German U21 in the European Championship qualification during the international break.

In the run-up to the Champions League defeat of his club Bruges at Atalanta Bergamo (1: 2), Tresoldi was asked by the broadcaster “Sky Sports Italia” whether he could also imagine missions for Italy. The attacker born in Cagliari said: “The rules allow it and my phone is involved. If Gattuso wants to talk to me, I would be very happy.”

He had recently received attention. In the 6-1 of the German U21 against Latvia, Tresoldi scored three goals. In Bruges, he has come to seven scorer points in 15 competitive games in the summer, including three goals in the league and one goal in his Champions League debut against Monaco.

Its market value increased from five to nine million euros in 2025 – the highest value of his previous career.

Tresoldi explained that he is still concentrating on the DFB: “I decided to do it, even if it is only the U21. I feel very comfortable in the future … you will see.”

In theory, the attacker could also appear for Argentina, his mother’s home country. His focus is initially on Germany.
