Former Bayern captain and Wolfsburg coach Mark van Bommel is under discussion as the new chief coach of the Italian first division team Parma Calcio.

According to information from “Sky Italia”, there have already been the first contacts between the club and the 48 -year -old Dutch.

Van Bommel played for FC Bayern Munich from 2006 to January 2011 before moving to Italy Milan as a player. As a trainer, he won the Belgian championship with FC Royal Antwerp. When he returned to VfL Wolfsburg, he had to go again after nine match days in autumn 2021.

The three-time European Cup winner Parma is looking for a new trainer because the Romanian Cristian Chivu moved to the Champions League finalist Inter Milan after relegation in Serie A. In addition to Van Bommel, the two former Italian international Alberto Gilardino and Daniele de Rossi are also traded.
