Reportage Germany 2024 +++ In 2003 it began with 89 fans of 1. FC Union Berlin who, after a disappointing first half of the season, met secretly in the stadium to end the year with Advent and Christmas carols. What began as a consolation developed into one of the club’s most beautiful traditions. Today, around 28,500 women, men and children sing together in the stadium at the Alte Försterei every year, forming what is probably Germany’s most famous Christmas choir. Torsten Michels’ film provides insights behind the scenes of this unique event. The choir of the Emmy-Noether-Gymnasium in Köpenick, the priest who recites the Christmas story, and stadium announcer Christian Arbeit, who takes part in this special evening with his family, are introduced. With their passion and authenticity, they all contribute to the magical atmosphere that makes Christmas singing a highlight for fans and families. A heartwarming documentary about community, tradition and the unifying power of music. Film by Torsten Michels first published December 19, 2024/rbb
