Viivi Avellán spends the summer in Finland. Avellán’s children have a long summer vacation from school, and the former presenter did not see the reasons to stay behind the racket all summer long.

– I have clients here and I can continue to work here. Children can be with relatives and all summer camps and learn better in Finnish, Avellán says F1the red carpet of the invited guest night.

Avellán and his family live in California, where they moved from Singapore in October. The Singapore family moved in 2016 and lived in everyday life for eight years.

Everyday life abroad has come over the years. Avellán describes that he is happy to spend now in Finland in the summer.

“This is a really peaceful place,” Avellán says when describing the differences between Finland and the United States.

A practical example of countries differences can be found in traffic. Avellán states that he is a good jockey because he has a background in rail driving, for example. However, in California, Avellán is afraid on big motorways.

– They are in terribly bad shape and it’s reckless. It is more relaxed in Finland and many things are more serene and safer, says Avellán.

The silence in public

Among other things, the track trucking is set at a time when Avellán was one of the most followed people in Finland in public. Avellán became known in the early 2000s as a sports journalist and anchor, and among other things Elixiras the presenter of the sports program. Since then, he was seen on many TV shows, and Avellán’s face was several times on the pages of the magazines.

Now Avellán has long kept a low profile in public. According to Avellán, the busiest years in public were moments and educational.

“I now have thick leather and strong resilience, and I won’t startle,” says Avellán.

Avellán remembers how he was thrown at the deep end of the age of 21 to make a news broadcast. According to Avellán, making live broadcasts served as a good education to life.

“Nothing is terribly excited anymore,” Avellán says.
