Novak Djokovic is not fed up after the 100th tournament victory of his career and has taken the first step into his 25th Grand Slam title.

Three days after his milestone in Geneva, the 38 -year -old Serb won his opening match at the French Open in Paris against Mackenzie McDonald (USA) 6: 3, 6: 3 and left a strong impression.

“It is beautiful to be here again, the memory of my Olympic victory is still very present,” said Djokovic after the effortless entry into his 21st French Open in series since 2005: “I am very happy how the game went, I really played at a good level.”

Djokovic, who triumphed in Roland Garros in 2016, 2021 and 2023, has not caught a serious draw. Only in a possible quarter-finals against Alexander Zverev could a really strong opponent wait for Djokovic, who had won Olympic gold last year.

Already in the first sentence it became turbulent – in the truest sense of the word: Because the wind put in the Court Philippe Chatrier and also rain, Djokovic was presented several times with the referee and chief referee with the empty request to close the roof. This finally happened with some delay

From Djokovic’s point of view, this remained the only bigger excitement. The “Djoker”, who won his 100th ATP title on Saturday in a gripping final in Geneva against Poland Hubert Hurkacz and ended a longer dry spell, was physically fresh. Overall, McDonald had no chance against the ice -cold Djokovic.
