Janne Ahonen has been able to celebrate numerous successes in ski jumping. He experiences a difficult time privately.
The Finn Janne Ahonen is five-way ski jumping world champion and also won the four-hill tour five times at his active time. Everything went well for a long time in his marriage. But now the 47-year-old announced that he and his wife Tiia divorced.
“The divorce has not yet been officially submitted, but it is true that it is imminent,” said the former ski jumping star about the Finnish newspaper “Seiska”. Ahonen explained: “I really don’t want to comment on this topic. Our whole family is thinking about this.”
The couple married in summer 2004 and shared over 20 years together. In addition, Janne and Tiia Ahonen have two children together. Mico Ahonen is now 23 years old and Milo Ahonen is 16 years old.
As the Finnish boulevard magazine reports, Tiia Ahonen is said to have moved out of the shared apartment. The ex-ski jumper confirmed this and emphasized again: “But I don’t want to go any further.” He confirmed that this was something very private.
Ahonen recently made headlines when he spoke about cheating earlier after the added suit fraud of the Norwegian ski jumping team. So he told Norwegian public service broadcasting NRK: “We all went to the limits-and a little about it.” This affected him. “When it comes to size, I have covered the regulations and crossed the border,” said Ahonen.
