The El Feth mosque in Bergen op Zoom was defaced again last weekend. The police reported this in Bureau Brabant on Monday evening. Three Stars of David are painted in blue paint at the entrance to the mosque.
In January, the mosque and El Feth primary school in Bergen op Zoom were already defaced. The municipality already provided extra security with camera surveillance and extra police presence at the Islamic buildings in the municipality.
At the time, Mayor Margo Mulder called the graffiti with a ‘religiously intimidating’ Star of David not only offensive to those directly involved, but ‘it also affects the sense of safety and mutual relations in the neighborhood’.

The police shared images on Monday evening of the graffiti at the mosque on January 24 this year. The images show a man walking with a striking gait, taking out a spray can and making long stripes at the entrance to the mosque.
On the night of Friday May 8 to Saturday May 9, Stars of David were again placed at the entrance. The police ask anyone who knows more to contact them.
