Ilari Melart doesn’t light up for bronze games.
The disappointed HIFK player expressed his opinion on C More’s broadcast right after the semi-final series lost to Tappara.
Antero Mertaranta asked the experienced Melart in a sweat interview if he still has the energy to play in the bronze game.
– Well, I wish it wouldn’t be played. But now when you play, you can definitely find power. I can definitely pump myself up for it, Melart stated.
– But considering the future, maybe the League could leave it out in the coming years.
To Tappara, Melart gave a sincere confession.
– Tappara was better in this series. It must be admitted.

Pekka Saravo took a diplomatic line on the matter. The Tappara legend never lost a semifinal series, so he doesn’t know how it felt to play in the bronze medal match.
Instead Siim Liivik gave his own colorful opinion on the matter. He agreed with Melarti’s idea of abandoning the bronze games.
– I don’t think you should play. I myself would not have been interested in playing in that game, Liivik shot.
