Van Duijvenbode is in excellent form. He started his day against Martin Schindler, playing at home. The German seemed to bring Aubergenius, who had had a fabulous weekend so far, to his knees, but still let him escape: 6-5. In the quarter-final against Peter Wright he seemed to need no escape as he broke the Scot at 4-4 with a 160 finish.

Still, Wright came back. Van Duijvenbode then had the initiative in the last leg, but missed his first match dart. However, Wright couldn’t hurt him, which is why Aubergenius was allowed to return and finish it this time. In the semi-final against Krzysztof Ratajski he did not need a comeback. The Dutchman was simply a size too big for the Pole and was able to reach the final without unnecessary effort. He finished it off with a 146 finish.

Gian van Veen

Van Veen initially had a great day, because after his very big win over Clayton (6-1) earlier, Aspinall also seemed to go very hard against the Dutch darts crowd. The Brit – who previously eliminated Jermaine Wattimena – had nothing to say in the first legs and it quickly became 4-0. Aspinall seemed to come back into the match for a moment, but Van Veen was on time and even impressed with a big fish (170 finish). But Aspinall turned out to be a cat with nine lives and still came back to 6-6, after which he also won the decisive leg.

Van Veen met a fellow countryman with Danny Noppert in the quarter-finals and turned out to be too big for the darts player from Joure. Van Veen only needed a break to make the difference TheFreeze to make: 6-3.
