Dior opens spectacular flagship store in Geneva

The French fashion house Dior has made an architectural statement in the Swiss metropolis of Geneva.

In the luxury mile Rue du Rhône, the label built a spectacular flagship store based on plans by the French star architect Christian de Portzamparc. The brand, which belongs to the luxury goods group LVMH, has been offering selected products from the current women’s and men’s fashion collections as well as shoes, accessories and jewelry on six floors since February 27th.

For the project, De Portzamparc used his design for the Dior store in the South Korean capital Seoul, which opened in 2015, and which was celebrated not only in expert circles. In Geneva, too, he relied on organic facade elements that are reminiscent of flower petals and thus refer to the legendary designs of the fashion designer Christian Dior, who died in 1957.

The interior of the new flagship, which was designed by the fashion house’s own design team, also combines modern elements with reminiscences of the founder’s Parisian studio, which is considered the nucleus of the company.
