As a coach in The Voice of Holland, Dinand Woesthoff is not liked by poet Nico Dijkshoorn. He is particularly annoyed by the singer’s voice. “Sounds like a pan of kale.”
The comeback season of The Voice of Holland is not exactly making waves. It goes by people relatively unnoticed. There are no really high-profile moments and the jury is also very boring. Dinand Woesthoff in particular is anything but a crowd favorite. He is someone who is very far removed from the ordinary people of the country.
Pan of kale
Nico Dijkshoorn really doesn’t think Dinand is worth listening to. “Where my anger or aggression or my disbelief lies is mainly in the fact that you can think of yourself as being able to give someone else a 7. Dinand Woesthoff, you know. Let me just judge this jury,” he says in front of the camera of The Telegraph.
He continues: “Dinand Woesthoff has been sounding for about 34 years – I don’t know how old he is – as if a pan of kale is slowly coming up from his esophagus. That’s just… Everyone is laughing crazy about how that guy sings and he is now sitting there judging.”
Braderie
What does he think of Suzan & Freek? They are considered crowd favorites. “You used to hire them for a fair and then after two songs you said: guys, you know, it was fun, we’ll put on some music again.”
Finally: does he have anything to say about his good friend Matthijs van Nieuwkerk? “I worked with him every week for twelve years. We didn’t see each other very much during De Wereld Draait Door. Back then it was a bit more businesslike, also from my side. We will be on the summer tour again this summer. We are also good friends.”
