Dieter Nuhr: “Didn’t expect them to hold hands at Rammstein after-show orgies”

A clip that went viral shows comedian Dieter Nuhr mockingly mocking unsuspecting visitors to after-show parties

With a comic insert about Rammstein, Dieter Nuhr should once again polarize. In an excerpt from a comedy program posted on Twitter, Nuhr first called for prudence – one should not prejudge Rammstein, but wait and see what the investigation would reveal.

“In contrast to the entire rest of the population, I have no idea what happens backstage after Rammstein concerts,” he says in front of the audience. “Whether it was abuse – I think that has to be decided by the courts, they are responsible for it.” they have to be prosecuted, that’s no question at all.” And puts a tip: “But the judiciary is responsible for that and not the family minister – you have to explain it to him.” By that he means the federal family minister Lisa Paus (Greens). In an interview, she called for changes in concert operations to better protect women from attacks. For this purpose, she suggested separate protection areas at concerts and the use of so-called awareness teams, which would be available on site as contact persons in the event of suspected sexual assaults. One must now act “quickly and specifically”, said Paus – which would also include the abolition of “Row Zero”.

Then the jokes start: “My Kuschelrock CD didn’t have Rammstein on it,” says Nuhr. Finally, Nuhr makes fun of people who may be surprised that Rammstein’s after-show parties are tough: “I didn’t expect them to form a circle of chairs at a Rammstein after-show orgy and join the Join hands to discuss deep feelings.” Nuhr’s words can be interpreted in such a way that every man or woman who “celebrates” with this band backstage should know what can happen then. As if you automatically want to engage in intimacy just because you get the opportunity to meet your idols backstage. A Twitter user speaks of “victim blaming”.

Many of the women who accuse Till Lindemann of abusive behavior paint a much more complex picture: from helplessness to shock, which would have made them easy victims.

The Berlin public prosecutor’s office is currently investigating against Lindemann. Universal Music is pausing its collaboration with Rammstein. Read an article by Tocotronic bassist Jan Müller about Rammstein here.
