Business as usual in Berne. “On Saturday and Sunday the concerts of the band Rammstein will take place in Bern. Increased traffic is therefore to be expected in the Wankdorf area,” reports the Swiss news portal nau.ch.
The machine is running, while there is commotion in the engine room, and rags may even be flying.
The statement by drummer Christoph Schneider on the allegations surrounding the “Row Zero” case, published yesterday afternoon (June 16), documents a rift within the band. Business must be in full swing. But the conscience of the 57-year-old percussionist apparently no longer cooperates.
The objections are declared as “personal emotions and thoughts”. The unusually long letter of appeasement, which is not in the usual Jura jargon, essentially states that it was singer Till Lindemann who increasingly lost his horses over the years.
“All I heard from Tilly’s parties were adults celebrating together,” says Schneider.
Briefly summarized again. Schneider says: I show compassion, but wash my hands in innocence. And – very important – we will get through it all TOGETHER.
In the comments on social media, malice prevails over these statements. But there is also a lot of understanding for the “pressure situation” that Rammstein has been in for weeks. For example, it says in a Daniel: “These prejudices just make me want to puke…”
A DornenResli, on the other hand, writes: “I see Christoph Schneider’s statement as a joke. Not so subtly, women are blamed again and again. The slight distancing from Till seems like an attempt to save your own ass: ‘We didn’t know anything’”.
The pugnacious activist and ex-Greens politician Jutta Ditfurth also took the floor in a post:
“Too late. too limp. Too cowardly. (Also his wide pee and hangman photos on Instagram. Who should take that seriously?) But legally useful. #Rammstein will not survive the conflict, no matter what the courts decide.”
According to information from “Bild”, the band’s warehouse has been working on a new and joint statement for several days. “But they obviously failed,” it says. Schneider’s outburst surprised the other Rammsteiners and is said to have “not been agreed”.
In Bern, on the other hand, major organizer Gadget abc Entertainment Group switched to defense. In an open letter to the Swiss Young Socialists (juso) it says about the concerts this weekend in a professional manner:
“As far as the so-called ‘Row Zero’ is concerned specifically, it should be mentioned in view of the current discussion that it is a necessary facility for concert operations directly in front of the stage, for example for security services, photographers, etc. At the upcoming concerts there are no other guests in this zone beyond the necessary functions.”
