‘Dieseltje’ Timme Koster cherishes bronze medal at 60 meters hurdles at NK indoor

Of course, last year’s numbers 1 and 2 Koen Smet and Liam van der Schaaf were missing. But Timme Koster cherishes the bronze medal he won yesterday in the 60 meter hurdles at the NK athletics in Apeldoorn. “I’m happy with it.”

Last year, the 20-year-old athlete unexpectedly became Dutch champion in the 110 meter hurdles. With his new status, expectations during this Dutch Championship were therefore higher than before.

With his time of 7 seconds and 89 hundredths (a personal best), he was just behind the new national champion Job Geerds (7.81) and Yoram Vriezen (7.87). “For a hurdler who has to have his second piece, I don’t think it’s a bad time. I’m a diesel.”

The indoor season is now over for Koster. He will not go to the European Indoor Championships in Istanbul next month and can focus on the outdoor season.
