Ed Sheeran is said to have already completed his new album. Did he also reveal the name here?
Ed Sheeran apparently indicated the title of his upcoming album. In a comment on an Instagram post, the British singer-songwriter made a note that indicates that this could be the name of his next project.
“Ed Sheeran recently changed his profile picture, people! What math will he do next? ”A fan wrote on Instagram. This referred to the fact that the singer -songwriter used mathematical symbols as a name for its first five studio albums: +, x, ÷, = and -.
In response, sheeran wrote: “Irony is, if you ask me something mathematical, I would not be able to answer the question, I never completed the high school.” Then he said goodbye by apparently betraying the title of his next LP. “Play will come soon,” he added.

Sheeran had already teased the title at the end of 2023 when he wrote in an online post: “We’ll see each other at some point next year when we press Play again and have a nice Christmas season X.”

Since his debut album Plus (+) in 2011, Ed Sheeran has released five albums with mathematical symbols: Multiply (X) (2014), Divide (÷) (2017), Equals (=) (2021) and subtract () (2023 ). So far, the title choice has not only had recognition value, but is also said to have reflected different phases of his life. In 2023, Autumn Variations appeared, with which he finally said goodbye to the “Mathematics-A-A-A-Afar”.
Sheeran had already indicated in the past that he would complete the mathematical topic after “subtract”. Nevertheless, according to “NME”, he would continue to stick to symbolism. “I will do ten symbol plates,” he said in 2022. “The next five will have nothing to do with math.”
The new album should already be finished – as well as several music videos that are said to have been prepared for the project as part of a “large advertising campaign”.
Ed Sheeran had already said in May 2024 that he had recorded new material. At that time he explained that he wanted to wait a little longer with the publication: “I published two records on tour last year and that was quite a bit for me. So I made the new music and will let it rest for a while. ”
