Until recently, AC/DC toured the United States for the first time in nine years. On May 28, however, they played the last of 13 concerts of their “Power Up” tour in Cleveland. It is currently still unclear whether fans in the United States will have the opportunity to see the band live.
Are AC/DC still fit enough for a new tour?
If you consider that the publication of your debut album “High Voltage” was almost 50 years ago, it is no wonder that fans are unsure whether Angus Young, Brian Johnson, Stevie Young, Matt Laugh and Chris Chaney will play a big tour again. Guitarist Angus Young turned 70 shortly before the tour start and singer Brian Johnson is already 77.
The “Rock or Bust” tour, which took place in 2014 and 2015, seemed to drive the musicians to their health borders. In the meantime, Johnson had to be replaced by Axl Rose of the Guns N ‘Roses due to hearing problems and Bassist Cliff Williams decided to retire after the shows.
Brian Johnson performed the first concerts with only one shoe
So far, it is not known about the tour in the United States, as the musicians have healthed. However, there were hardly any abnormalities. Brian Johnson only played the first few concerts with one shoe – reason for this was probably pain on the leg. In some cases, he is said to have worn a prosthesis on the calf.
It is unclear when and whether the Australians will announce a tour again. However, they tend to take a break between their concert series for several years. Next, AC/DC will come to Europe again for 15 appearances. They will also play live in Germany three times.
