Diane Keaton became “very thin”.

Carol Bayer Sager said in an interview with People that she saw the Hollywood star “just two or three weeks ago” and was “surprised” by the drastic change in her appearance. The songwriter went on to explain that Keaton had become “very thin” and had lost a lot of weight.

“Creativity and joy of life” remained unchanged until the end

According to Sager, the actress had spent much of the year in Palm Springs, California, cleaning her home after it was “damaged” by the series of wildfires in early 2025. As a result, the two friends no longer saw each other as often, said the composer. When Diane Keaton returned, Sager was “pretty shocked” at how much weight her longtime friend had lost. Despite the physical changes, the actress’s “creativity and joy of life” remained “as vibrant as ever.”

The two most recently worked on Keaton’s Christmas single “First Christmas”, which was released in late 2024. The star reportedly “loved” recording the song. The Hollywood icon “sang with so much heart” that she even cried during the session, Sager recalled. The composer described Keaton as “fully occupied with life” until the end.
