On Saturday, Bavaria’s defender Hiroki ITō had to be injured. Now the German record champion has certainty – and new problems.
It is simply not the week of FC Bayern and now the next setback: after Alphonso Davies (cruciate ligament rupture) and Dayot Upamecano (free joint body in the knee) are missing from the German record champion, Hiroki ITō is now also canceled for a long time.
The defense lawyer suffered a midfoot break in the game against FC St. Pauli on Saturday afternoon (3-2) in the Allianz Arena. The club announced this on Sunday morning on its website. The Japanese was only substituted in the Bundesliga duel in the 58th minute and had to leave the place in added time.
For Bavaria, foot injury means the next failure in defense. Actually, ITō should take a key role in replacing the two most important and so far the most form -strong defenders, namely Davies and Upamecano, at Bayern. For the time being, nothing will become of this.
Sports board member Max Eberl says about the failure of ITō: “The news of Hiroki’s serious violation of Hiroki meets us all. He had only fought back after months of rehab and now falls out for a long time – you can only guess what is going on in it.”
The central defender was missing from July 2024 to the beginning of February this year due to the same injury. Following his 192-day failure, the Japanese had a training deficit and was just on the sporty path again.
Eberl also emphasized in the club notification: “He gets all support from us. He is a fighter and we are happy when he is back on the pitch. Head up, Hiroki – FC Bayern is by your side.”
