National coach Christian Wück named his 23-member squad for the National League games of the women’s national team against Scotland and was committed to the T-question for the European Championship. Ann-Katrin Berger will be in the DFB goal in Switzerland.

The 34-year-old from the US Club Gotham FC, who was instrumental in winning the bronze medal at the Olympic Games in Paris last year, received preference for the euro (2nd to 27th July) in front of her younger competitors. The national coach announced on Tuesday (25.03.2025) at the squad announcement for the National League games against Scotland on April 4 in Dundee (April 4, 8:35 p.m./ZDF) and on April 8 in Wolfsburg (5:45 p.m./Live in the first and at sportschau.de).

Experience speaks for Berger

Berger will “get playing time from now on to get security,” said Wück, who had already informed the goalkeeper in the past course in February. Stina Johannes (25/Eintracht Frankfurt) and Rafaela Borggräfe (25/SC Freiburg) were also nominated for the games against Scotland.

Attacker Kett brings “a very good dynamic and explosiveness. With her skills we trust her to step into the national team and are convinced that she can call up over 90 minutes at the highest level,” said Wück. Rebecca Knaak (Manchester City) and Kathrin Hendrich (VfL Wolfsburg), both of them, are not in the squad, both of whom are laboratory on a thigh injury.

EM start on July 4th against Poland

The last test options in front of the European Championship for the DFB women in the Nations League will be the games against the Netherlands on May 30th in Bremen and on June 3 against Austria.
