According to unanimous media reports, the German Football Association wants to fill its top positions in the international bodies at UEFA and FIFA.

The “Süddeutsche Zeitung” and the ZDF “Sportstudio” report that DFL supervisory board chairman Hans-Joachim Watzke is to replace Rainer Koch on the UEFA Executive Committee and DFB President Bernd Neuendorf is to replace Peter Peters on the FIFA Council. The DFB could not initially be reached for a statement.

The day before, the controversial top official Koch, who had been voted out as vice president of the DFB, had already announced his early retirement from the UEFA Executive Committee. In addition, he will no longer run for another term as President of the Bavarian Football Association at the end of June.

According to “ZDF” journalist Markus Harm, the planned reshuffle now only depends on Koch, Peters and the international associations. Peters had clearly lost against Neuendorf in the election for DFB president in March.
