DFB team: Flick probably wanted to convince 1. FC Köln’s Jonas Hector of the World Cup

To be honest, I don’t quite understand Flick.

As is well known, Hector has already announced his retirement in 2020.

Yes, he is playing a more than decent season for Cologne or would have earned the national team and has definitely also played a part in the generally, from my point of view, good season for FC (Conference L. everything is still possible, only 3 defeats in the league and only 2 points behind international place in the league as of now).

But we now have enough alternatives on LV. Was different 3-5 years ago. However, we are currently a long way from the “LV problem zone”, as suggested here in the article/headline. The real problem area in Germany is the classic 9 Series. In its current form, apart from the filling jug, there is nothing that I would put up/nominate at an international level…

There are options on LV -> Günter, Raum, Halstenberg, as a surprise candidate: “Wagner” (who is playing an outstanding season in the MLS), Gosens, Kehrer (plays everything defensively in the national team anyway), Max (plays a passable season but Hansi has never been nominated in Eindhoven), Can (I wouldn’t put it on LV myself, as it’s not his best position. But he had already played in the national team several times), Anthony Jung (played a very passable season in Bremen) and Plattenhardt.
