FC Bayern Munich is the most successful football club in Germany. In our news ticker you will find all the important news about the record champions.
Offensive star Jamal Musiala is back at FC Bayern Munich. The 21-year-old was recently out due to a flu-like infection and was able to complete part of the team training again two days before the Bundesliga home game against TSG 1899 Hoffenheim on Wednesday (8.30 p.m./Sky and Sat.1).
The national player was not yet able to take part in the 1-0 win against Borussia Mönchengladbach. Thomas Müller replaced him in the starting line-up. Musiala also had to miss the test in Salzburg (6-0).
Musiala, like Harry Kane, belongs in the category that he cannot be replaced “one-to-one,” coach Vincent Kompany emphasized recently. FC Bayern is at the start of an intense week with six games in 18 days, including the final two games in the league phase of the Champions League.
Sports director Max Eberl has given top talent Mathys Tel a job before the start of the second half of the season. When asked by t-online, Eberl reported on Friday at the press conference about a “very open” conversation with head coach Vincent Kompany and Tel’s advisors. “We said: The playing time wasn’t like that. On the other hand, his performances weren’t such that he could have earned more playing time,” said Eberl. “The offensive squad is broad, but not too broad.”
Nevertheless, Eberl made it clear: “Mathys is fully planned for us – from the beginning of the season and now in the winter.” This meant he ruled out a possible loan for the young star in the winter. “He didn’t get that much playing time, but he didn’t show the performance either,” repeated Eberl. “But he has committed himself to us and wants to push through here and deliver his performance. But then it’s up to him to a certain extent to get the playing time.”
The 19-year-old Tel, who has regularly played for the professionals in the past, is “a bit of a special case,” said Eberl. However, things are a little different for the two talents Arijon Ibrahimović (19) and Adam Aznou (18). “Of course playing time is extremely important and in January you might have the opportunity to find something where you say: This is an exciting loan,” said Eberl in reference to the duo. “If there were options, we would think about it.”
Manuel Neuer is ready for action again after breaking his rib and is returning to the FC Bayern goal at the start of the new football year against Borussia Mönchengladbach. “Luckily Manu is back,” said coach Vincent Kompany before the Bundesliga guest game on Saturday (6.30 p.m. in the live ticker on t-online).
Neuer’s representative before the winter break, Daniel Peretz, will be out for several weeks due to a bruised kidney. “We don’t know exactly how long,” Kompany reported. But Sven Ulreich is back as number two; The veteran was recently absent for personal reasons.
