Kai Havertz is one of the most important top performers at Arsenal. His failure with knee problems weighed accordingly. There was something to celebrate with his comeback.

Arsenal FC has reached its season goal. With a narrow home win against direct competitor Newcastle United, the Londoners not only secured participation in the Champions League on Sunday evening, but also second place in the Premier League – for the third time in a row.

The decision was made after the change of sides: Declan Rice met in the 55th minute to the 1-0 final score. Previously, Arsenal had remained largely unobtrusive in a low -chance first half.

In the final phase, Kai Havertz then returned to the square. The international was substituted for Bukayo Saka in the 76th minute. It was Havertz’s first assignment after about three months of injury because of a knee tendon injury. The 25-year-old helped to bring the narrow lead over time. Newcastle, on the other hand, must continue to worry about the premier class.

Nottingham can continue to hope

Nottingham Forest also remains in the race for international places. At the away game against West Ham United, the team of coach Nuno Espírito Santo won 2-1. Morgan Gibbs-White put the guests in the lead early (11th), Nikola Milenković increased to 2-0 (61.) after a good hour. West Ham’s goal by Jarrod Bowen (86th) was late.

Before the last match day, Nottingham is in seventh place. The gap to fifth place is only one point. In order to qualify for the Champions League, Nottingham would have to win against Chelsea and at the same time hope for slips from Manchester City, Aston Villa or Newcastle.
