DFB professional threatens to take a longer break
Bitter starting eleven debut: Füllkrug breaks his toe
January 13, 2026 – 7:55 p.mReading time: 1 min.

The German striker was injured in his first starting appearance for AC Milan. How long he will be out is unclear.
It was only on Sunday that Niclas Füllkrug was in the AC Milan starting line-up for the first time, and there will be no further appearances for the time being: the national player broke a toe in the game against AC Florence on Sunday and is out.
“Füllkrug already knocked out,” headlined the Italian sports newspaper “Corriere dello Sport” on Tuesday. The “Gazzetta dello Sport” reports that the striker will miss Thursday’s game against Como 1907 and “almost certainly won’t be there on Sunday against Lecce either.”
Milan hope to use the attacker again for the January 25 game against AS Roma. This depends on the treatments and Füllkrug’s pain threshold. Other Italian media predict a longer break. “Corriere della Sera” and “La Repubblica” expect a downtime of around a month.
The center forward is on loan from West Ham United to the traditional Italian club until the end of the season. Füllkrug missed several games at the English Premier League club in the fall due to a torn muscle bundle and was recently no longer in the squad.
With his move to Milan, the attacker wants to promote himself for the World Cup in the USA, Canada and Mexico in the summer. He has yet to score a goal in his three appearances for Milan so far.
