National player moves back to the ex-club

Four years ago, Jana Feldkamp left the SGS Essen to write down a new chapter of her sporting career at TSG Hoffenheim. Now the DFB player returns to the old place of work.
After four years at TSG Hoffenheim, Jana Feldkamp moves to a familiar surroundings. The midfielder will be running again for the SGS Essen from the coming season. This was confirmed by the Bundesliga club from the Ruhr area on Monday.
Feldkamp, who had already played for the SGS in her youth, had been under contract in Hoffenheim since 2021. This season she completed 17 games in the league and four in the DFB Cup for the Kraichgau women. She did not score a hit, but she gave five goals.
SGS Managing Director Florian Zeutschler emphasized that it was “both athletically and humanly a great story” that Feldkamp could be convinced to return to Essen. The 27-year-old “developed into a more than seasoned Bundesliga player”.
Zeutschler said: “We are very happy that she has found the way back to her home and will come back for the SGS from the coming season.”
Feldkamp himself was also pleased with her return to Essen. “The family environment and with each other in the club made it very difficult to say goodbye at the time and I am happy to be part of it soon and to continue writing the story together with the club and the ambitious team,” said the native of Dinslaken.
Feldkamp has been used a total of 15 times for the German national team in the past. She made her debut in April 2021 in a friendly against Australia (5: 2). The last time she ran out against the USA in November 2022 (1: 2). Accordingly, she was not taken into account under the new national coach Christian Wück.
