David Raum’s suffering could come to an end on Friday in the top game. He has a few minutes of playing time in the tank, as coach Marco Rose says.

National player David Raum could make his comeback for RB Leipzig at the end of the year after a long injury break. As coach Marco Rose announced on Thursday, the left-back will travel to the away game on Friday (8.30 p.m. in the t-online live ticker) at record champions Bayern Munich and will be an option for “five, ten or 15 minutes”.

Raum suffered a ligament injury in his right ankle at the beginning of October, underwent surgery and has been out since then. The last game of the year comes too early for playmaker Xavi, who is also recovering from an ankle ligament injury. Midfielders Kevin Kampl and Amadou Haidara have recently been plagued by muscular problems and their appearance on Friday evening is still unclear.

Waiting for Rose and Co. in Munich is, among others, Bayern’s star striker Harry Kane, who is due to return after a torn muscle fiber. Meanwhile, Leipzig’s coach pointed out the importance of the Englishman for Munich’s game. “You need someone in the center who can take off. And you can see straight away when he’s missing. And you can also see straight away when he’s back. He doesn’t need a long warm-up time. He’s just a world-class striker,” said Rose.

Leipzig has stabilized somewhat after its downward slide, with two Bundesliga wins in a row recently. In order to annoy the league leaders at the end of the year, Rose set the direction. “We’re going there with a good feeling. We’ll try everything. We’ll try to make it as difficult as possible for Bayern,” said the 48-year-old: “We have to run like rabbits and be incredibly hard-working and also take advantage of our opportunities.”
