The German Football Association has fined the 56 clubs from the top three leagues a good 12 million euros in the 2024/25 season. The sum is therefore only slightly below that of the previous season, when the clubs had to pay around 12.5 million euros.

The riot champions are 1. FC Köln. Because of numerous offenses committed by fans of the newly promoted Bundesliga team, the DFB imposed fines of 924,355 euros on the Rhinelanders in the last second division season. The second promoted team, Hamburger SV, was also asked to pay 623,555 euros. This meant third place in the overall ranking. In between lies Eintracht Frankfurt. The Hessians were once again penalized Croesus in the Bundesliga with 764,600 euros. In the 2023/24 season, the DFB even imposed 918,950 euros in fines on the Champions League participants.

Significant increase in the 3rd league

In the 3rd league, Dynamo Dresden took the sad top spot. The newcomer had to shell out 428,460 euros. Striking: With a total of 2,238,025 million euros, a significant increase was recorded compared to the previous season (around 1.5 million). And that despite the fact that there were two clubs, Viktoria Köln and Hannover 96 II, that did not receive any fines.

The penalties against the 36 professional clubs in the Bundesliga and 2nd Bundesliga, however, were reduced by over one million euros. As in previous years, the majority of judgments were made in connection with pyrotechnic incidents. Since the clubs are allowed to use part of the penalties imposed by the DFB for violence prevention measures, only a good 8 million euros ultimately ended up in the association’s account. As usual, 6 million euros were donated to football foundations.
