The defending champion wants to get back to the final. VfB Stuttgart is in the semi-finals of the DFB Cup. The Swabians will meet league rivals SC Freiburg at home on Thursday, April 23rd. The Breisgauers were in the final in Berlin for the first and only time in 2022, only losing on penalties against RB Leipzig.
VfB, on the other hand, is dreaming of its second final in a row after triumphing 4-2 over second division Bielefeld last year.
In the Bundesliga, the balance between Stuttgart and Freiburg is even this season. Sebastian Hoeneß’s team took revenge for the 1:3 defeat in the first half of the season in Freiburg with a 1:0 home win on February 1st.
The game can be seen live and free of charge on ARD. The broadcast starts at 8:15 p.m. Kick-off is at 8:45 p.m. in the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Stuttgart. As usual, the pay TV channel Sky will also broadcast the game.
