DFB bid for the 2027 Women’s World Cup

The German Football Association (DFB) has officially confirmed its interest in jointly hosting the 2027 Women’s World Cup with the Netherlands and Belgium.

After FIFA opened the application process, the trio sent the message “We are ready!” via the social media.

The three national associations have been preparing for the World Cup bid since 2020 and are now “entering the bidding process with the support of their governments,” said the DFB.

Women’s World Cup 2027 will be awarded in May 2024

The common slogan is “Breaking New Ground” using the initials BNG of the three countries. South Africa and Brazil are considered to be competitors.

“We are certain that we can offer the perfect conditions for the tournament,” said DFB General Secretary Heike Ullrich: “Our aim is to present the players with the best sporting conditions, the fans with a unique atmosphere and all associations with sustainable approaches.”

The world association announced the day before that the tournament will be awarded by the FIFA Congress on May 17, 2024. The final application dossiers must be submitted by December 8, 2023.
