Three as yet unknown perpetrators broke into J&B Van Ark Jeweler in Zuidlaren last night. The thieves tried to gain access to the building on Stationsweg around 03:30 am. The facade of the jewelry store was severely damaged.
Employees of the jewelry store were busy making an inventory of the damage on Thursday morning and did not want to comment on the break-in. A police spokesperson said significant damage was done. “A window has been smashed and the grille has been dislodged. The perpetrators also stole something, but we don’t know exactly what yet,” the spokesperson said.
After the burglary, the three perpetrators took off on a scooter in the direction of Zuiderstraat in the brinkdorp. The police, who are still investigating the break-in, hope that local residents who have heard or seen something will come forward. “And that also applies if there are camera images. In any case, three people on one scooter stand out,” concludes the spokesperson.
