Detained former PSV player Mo Ihattaren released again

Footballer Mo Ihattaren is free again after he was arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of involvement in a threat. His lawyer Sander Janssen made this known via a statement on Twitter.

According to the lawyer, the former PSV player has made statements about the threat and it concerns a case from a long time ago that is still being investigated by the police.

De Telegraaf reported on Tuesday that Ihattaren had been arrested in a house in Utrecht, where he was staying at the time. At the time, the police would not confirm that he had been arrested. The police also declined to comment on the seriousness of the threat.

Back as soon as possible
His lawyer says that the 20-year-old footballer will return to his Italian club Juventus as soon as possible to resume training there. Ajax has rented Ihattaren from the club in Turin since the beginning of this calendar year. At the end of October, the team from Amsterdam decided not to take over the left leg from Juventus.

According to his lawyer, the former PSV player had an eventful period in his life, but he had found his way back up in recent weeks. According to De Telegraaf, Ihattaren was threatened by criminals as a result of his relationship with a young woman. He would also maintain close ties with other criminals. Ajax, the police and Ihattaren’s agent never wanted to respond to those messages.
