The board of the Utrecht Circus School Diedom was warned in 2014 for sexual cross -border behavior of the now -driven teacher with a teenager. Three years later, the police reported serious sexual violence against the same man, it is known to NRC. Despite both warnings, he was able to teach at the Circusschool until the end of last year.
On Thursday, a spokesperson for the Central Netherlands police confirmed that “in the past reports have been made about the teacher in question”. The spokesperson says that the police are “now investigating what happened and what this news means for those reports.” The board of the Circusschool announced that it is in contact with the police. The police ask people who want to report or report, call or report to the local police station.
On Wednesday, the board of the Utrecht Circus School announced to the parents of the children that the teacher was put on non-active. He will also “not return”. The man was sent away after several reports about unwanted behaviors to minor (former) students who receive circus lessons there. The board does not want to say how many reports are involved.
Based on the reports, an external research agency was called in, which concluded that the teacher was guilty of cross -border behavior with minors, in the form of sexual contact, unwanted touches and comments and online contact via social media. That would have happened between 2010 and 2020.
