Chairman Jan Smit has suspended Frans ten Berge, business director of FC Volendam. Very surprising, because Smit himself is facing dismissal. The business director was brought to Volendam by Jan Smit in February.
The unrest at FC Volendam is enormous at the moment. On the field, but certainly at an administrative level. Earlier this week, Jan Smit himself announced that he and the three other board members would be dismissed. There will be a meeting on Thursday where the dismissal of the entire board will be ratified.
The marriage between FC Volendam and Frans ten Berge lasted only ten months. While Smit said in February that he was convinced that Ten Berge was the right man in the right place.
“General dysfunction in his portfolios,” a spokesperson for FC Volendam said about Ten Berge’s dismissal. “And he does not provide transparency to the club about matters that are essential for good management.”
