Staatsbosbeheer will remove the deposition around Hunebed D45 in Emmen. Last week employees of the organization discovered a crack in the cover stone. After research, there appears to be no risk that the stone will break.
In 2011 the cover stone broke from the same hunebed as a result of arson. A specialized company then carried out the repair and anchored the two parts with a steel construction.
The same company has now reassessed the situation. Based on this, Staatsbosbeheer states that the construction is still firm and that there is no danger that the cover stone will break. The crack has only become visible again. Staatsbosbeheer writes in a press release that the ribbons have since been removed, but it was not yet the case halfway through the afternoon.
Staatsbosbeheer reports that the crack is expected to be restored within two weeks.
