Denmark’s Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary take power.
Denmark’s Queen Margareeta, 83, surprised in her New Year’s speech and said that she would give up her crown. Soon it will be time for a change of power, when on January 14, Crown Prince Frederik will receive the crown. On that day, 52 years have passed since Margareta’s ascension to power.
The Danish Court has now published fresh pictures of the future royal couple. Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary pose in a festive outfit designed by Lasse Spangenberg. On her head she wears a tiara decorated with rubies. The color of Mary’s suit is turquoise, and the ribbon on Frederik’s outfit follows the same tonal scheme.
Fresh pictures of the outgoing Queen Margareta and the future new crown prince Christian have also been published.
