Denmark was the first country in Europe to systematically increase retirement age. Today the Danes can stop working when they are 67 years old, but from 2040 that age limit will be 70 years old. What is the reasoning behind this choice? And is that also possible with us? “I certainly do not exclude it,” says labor market expert Jan Denys. “But let’s wait and see how the acceleration of our retirement age is consumed for 67 years.”
