The Kölner Haie suffered a setback in the DEL. At the start of the 28th matchday, the Rhinelanders lost in Nuremberg – despite a long lead.

In the end, the Haie lost 2:3 (2:1, 0:0, 0:1, 0:1) to the Nuremberg Ice Tigers after overtime. Nuremberg’s Evan Barratt scored the decisive goal in overtime in the third minute of extra time.

Roman Kechter gave the Ice Tigers the lead in the first third in front of a good 5,800 spectators (6th). Adam Almquist (11th) and Louis-Marc Aubry (19th) turned the game around before the first siren. Will Graber finally scored the late equalizer (59th).

The Haie are in sixth place in the table (47 points), the Ice Tigers have 38 points after their seventh win in a row after overtime and are in tenth place. The table is led by ERC Ingolstadt with 58 points.
