DEL | Eisbären consolidate their lead in the table

The Eisbären Berlin have consolidated their top position in the German Ice Hockey League (DEL).

The DEL record champions beat the Schwenninger Wild Wings 5:3 (0:1, 2:1, 3:1) on Friday evening and are now four points ahead of their pursuers. Vice world champion Marcel Noebels became the match winner for the Eisbären with three goals.

Red Bull Munich is also getting better and better. The champions celebrated their second win in a row with a clear 5:1 (1:1, 2:0, 2:0) at the Kölner Haien after a period of six defeats in a row across all competitions.

The Straubing Tigers have been second in the table since Friday evening, winning the big cats’ duel against the Nuremberg Ice Tigers 7:4 (1:2, 2:1, 4:1). The team of the hour remains the Fischtown Pinguins.

The Bremerhaven team won 3:2 (1:1, 1:1, 0:0, 1:0) after extra time against runners-up ERC Ingolstadt and are one point behind Straubing and Adler Mannheim in fourth place.

Düsseldorfer EG remains at the bottom. Five days after the club from the state capital celebrated its longed-for first win of the season against Mannheim in regular time, DEG lost to the Grizzlys Wolfsburg 1:2 (0:0, 0:1, 1:1).
