Haase (35) and Middelkoop (39) surprisingly took the title in Ahoy last year. In the final they were then too strong for the South African Lloyd Harris and the German Tim Pütz.
Last week, Haase and Middelkoop, who have formed a permanent duo since this season, won the indoor tournament in Montpellier. They hope to qualify for the ATP Finals this year, the year-end tournament for the eight best couples of the season.
