At home against Roda JC, Jong AZ lost 1-0 tonight. For a long time it seemed to end at 0-0, but Zico Buurmeester became the schlemiel of the evening by shooting the ball into his own goal.
The victory was deserved for the visitors in ninety minutes. Pelé van Aanholt hit the post and Bryan Limbombe shot just wide a few times. The Belgian attacker had to step aside after five minutes, because he had forgotten his shin guards.
Jong AZ also had a number of opportunities. The best was for Fedde de Jong. He was able to lash out from the edge of sixteen, but former Telstar keeper Rody de Boer stood in the way. Beau Reus, on the other hand, had a good save in store on a close-up effort by substitute Dave van den Berg.

After four wins in a row, this is the first loss for Jong AZ since February 25. After 33 games we find the Alkmaarders back in twelfth place with 38 points.
