The German curling duo Pia-Lisa Schöll and Joshua Sutor missed their second victory in the second game of the Olympic qualification in mixed doubles.

In the fight for a ticket to the Winter Games in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo in February, the Germans lost 4-6 to Turkey in Kelowna, Canada. The preliminary round runs until Wednesday, and on Monday night (3:00 CET) the German team will face South Korea in the third of seven games.

In order to have a chance at one of the last two starting places for the Winter Games, the German duo must finish at least second in preliminary group A. Schöll and Sutor are currently tied for third place after a 6-4 win over Latvia at the start. In the decisive play-offs, only the two group winners play for the first Olympic ticket, the loser then plays against the winner of the duel between the group runners-up.

The German men had already completed their Olympic qualification at the World Championships last April. The women, however, missed qualification.
