Declared dead a day early, but actor Tony Dow from ‘Leave it to Beaver’ has passed away | showbiz

“We have received confirmation from Christopher, Tony’s son, that Tony passed away earlier this morning with his beloved family by his side,” actor Tony Dow’s official Facebook page said on Wednesday. “We know the world will be saddened by the loss of this incredible man.” Barely a day earlier, the actor was also declared dead by his management, but that turned out to be a bit premature.

In May, Dow announced that he had been diagnosed with cancer again, after an initial diagnosis years earlier. He was best known for his role in the TV series ‘Leave it to Beaver’, which ran from 1957 to 1963. He later had roles in, among others, ‘Honey I Shrunk the Kids’, ‘General Hospital’ and ‘The Love Boat’.
