A report was prepared regarding the armed attack on the headquarters of the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) in Riva. In the record, it was demanded that the detained suspects Cüneyd Uslu and Oğuzhan Güneysu be sentenced to 171 to 285 years in prison in total, one for 19 complainants, on the charge of ‘deliberately attempting to kill’.
The investigation has been completed against 2 suspects, 1 of whom is under arrest, regarding the armed attack on the TFF’s headquarters in Riva on September 1, 2022 by the Beykoz Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office. In the report prepared by the Beykoz Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, it was explained that the suspects fired the right gun at the meeting room located on the first floor of the two-storey administration building of the TFF Hasan Doğan National Teams Camp and Training Facilities. After the incident, it was noted that the gun was seized at the scene, 150 meters from the TFF building, and 12 empty cartridge cases were found. It was reported that while the board of directors was in a meeting, they heard a few gunshots, and one of the bullets entered through the window behind Hamit Altıntop.
“I FIRED RANDOM”
The defense of the suspects was also included in the report. Detained suspect Cüneyt Uslu said in his defense that they went to live with his friend Oğuzhan Güneysu in the place that belongs to him and is called the ‘floating house’. Uslu stated that they consumed alcohol in the continuation of his defense, and that he fired random air with an unlicensed gun next to him under the influence of alcohol. Uslu said that he had no intention in the incident and that he learned an hour later that the bullets hit the TFF building. In his defense, the suspect Oğuzhan Güneysu said that he and his friend Cüneyd Uslu drank alcohol and did not shoot when he was with him. He stated that Cüneyd Uslu may have fired while he was away to get the necessities. Güneysu said that after the incident, Uslu gave him his gun to hide in a cloth. Güneysu also noted that he hid the gun, which was in a cloth, in the tomato field in the backyard. He stated that the reason for the gunshot residue on him was that the clothes he was wearing during the incident were put in the same bag at the police station.
TFF BUILDING TARGET
In the record, it was stated that the suspects acted in unanimity of opinion and action. In the crime scene investigation report, it was stated that the bullets came at a right angle, and it was reported that there was a distance of 150 meters between the area where the incident took place and the targeted federation building. In the report, which stated that it was absolute and inevitable for the complainants in the targeted building to be hit, it was noted that the suspects fired despite foreseeing this situation, that they carried out the action knowingly and willingly, and that the action remained at the stage of attempt because the bullets did not hit the complainants.
It has been demanded that the detained suspect Cüneyt Uslu and Oğuzhan Güneysu be sentenced to imprisonment from 171 to 285 years in total, separately for 19 complainants, on the charge of ‘attempted to kill deliberately’. The prepared report was sent to the Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office for a lawsuit.
