The bicycle service provider Bikeleasing gets a new owner.

On Tuesday, the company announced that Decathlon Pulse SAS, the investment subsidiary of the French sporting goods retailer Decathlon, wants to acquire 65 percent of the shares in Bikeleasing from the Brockhaus Technologies AG group. The transaction is still “subject to the fulfillment of all regulatory requirements and the approval of the shareholders of Brockhaus Technologies,” explained Bikeleasing.

According to Brockhaus, the specific purchase price still depends on certain parameters at the time of closing. However, the purchase agreement provides for “a company valuation of Bikeleasing in the amount of 525 million euros,” according to a statement. According to current status, the transaction is expected to be completed in the first half of 2026.

Bikeleasing welcomed the planned takeover. For the company, it creates “a strong basis for further, sustainable growth as well as the targeted international expansion of its successful company bike leasing model and multi-benefit strategy,” according to a statement.

Even after the change of ownership, there will be no changes to the existing structures for the time being. “The group of companies will remain as such with its independent brands Probonio, Bike2Future, Lesora and Bikeleasing,” explained the bicycle service provider. In addition, the existing management team around the founders Bastian Krause and Paul Sinizin will “continue to lead the company and remain responsible for the strategic direction and operational business”.

Frank Vigo, the CEO of Decathlon Pulse, explained the reasons for the acquisition. “Our mission is to build long-term relationships with pioneering companies that share our vision and values,” he said in a statement. “Bike leasing has demonstrated strong growth and innovation in the area of sustainable mobility.”

Decathlon and Bike Leasing have also been working together in Germany for almost a year: Last January, both companies agreed that bicycles and e-bikes from Decathlon Germany could also be leased via the bike leasing service.
