A dead wolf was found this afternoon in the area of Dwingelderveld National Park. A spokesperson for the province of Drenthe confirmed this.

The police are investigating the cause of death of the animal in collaboration with the implementation organization BIJ12.

The province announced yesterday that it is preparing a so-called phasing permit for ‘problem wolf’ GW4890m. This is about the wolf that has recently attacked sheep behind an approved fence near Beilen at least four times.

The location of GW4890m is currently unknown, the province of Drenthe said earlier. It is not clear whether the wolf found dead today is the ‘problem wolf’.
