Someone was killed on the N285 between Wagenberg and Zevenbergschen Hoek on Friday evening. The victim was in a car that went off the road around 10:30 am and collided with three trees along the road. The car broke in two.
The driver would have lost control of the steering wheel on the straight road. Police are investigating how this could have happened.

The motorist would have been thrown out of the car by the impact, let a 112 correspondent know. Due to the seriousness of the situation, several emergency services were called. A trauma helicopter also came to the N285.
The road was closed to traffic after the accident.
