The German women’s national basketball team has to worry about qualifying for the European Championship. The DBB selection lost in Wolfenbüttel against leaders Belgium with 44:69 (19:34) and is in second place with a balance of 3:2.

The team of national coach Walt Hopkins must now hope to reach the European Championships in Slovenia and Israel (15th to 25th June) as one of the four best runners-up. In order to continue to have a chance of participating in the European Championship for the first time in twelve years, Germany must finally win the game in Bosnia and Herzegovina on Sunday (8 p.m.).

The Hopkins team got off to a poor start and was 9:22 behind after ten minutes. Belgium always scored easy points via Emma Meessemann. The DBB selection got into the game better in the second section, but Belgium was significantly better and more effective.

After the change of sides, the guests showed their qualities again and ultimately gave the German national team no chance. The best throwers for Germany were Alexandra Wilke and Marie Gülich with ten points each.
