Harri Heliövaara advanced as a pair of Henry Patten with to the men’s doubles final at the Australian Open. Italy will be there Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori.

The final will be played on Saturday.

The winning pair of the doubles will receive a hefty prize pool: 810,000 Aussie dollars, or almost 490,000 euros, which will be divided in half between the pair.

Heliövaara does not have to leave Australia empty-handed, even if there is a loss in the final. Even the losing couple will receive more than 265,000 euros in prize money.

Heliövaara, 35, has already earned slightly more than two million euros in prize money during his tennis career. Patten, 28, has accumulated more than a million euros in prize money.

However, Nelur’s prize money is quite small compared to singles. In Australia, the winner of the singles match for both men and women receives around 2.1 million euros. Even the losing side in the final will receive around 1.1 million euros from their contract.

A total of 96.5 million Aussie dollars, or just over 58 million euros, are awarded in the Australian Open tennis tournament.
